Charles “Spike” Hicks has been active in the Prescott area horse community for over 30 years. He has served as an officer of Prescott Saddle Club and Back Country Horsemen and was instrumental in obtaining grant funds to benefit these organizations and to improve local trails. Active in Animal Disaster Services, Spike has managed several large animal shelters in the Prescott area since the 2001 Indian Fire and is our County liaison and voice of experience.
Gregory Valenti is a retired police officer, bringing 34 years of experience with the Los Angeles Police Department; and extensive experience in their Emergency Operations Center as Intelligence & Planning Coordinator during disasters and evacuations involving horses. Greg and his wife own 3 horses and enjoy riding our local trails.

Judith “Judy” Johnson recently retired from a financial corporation after 30+ years in Information Security Analysis (Risk Management). Prior to that, she was a nongame wildlife biologist. She is a lifelong animal rescue volunteer. She was a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in her previous community, joined Animal Disaster Services and was recruited by Spike Hicks to work in large animal shelters. She is an active member of Back Country Horsemen and Granite Mountain Riders. Judy has owned horses most of her life, currently has 2 Missouri Foxtrotters, and hits the trails whenever possible.
Lynn Valenti has been involved with horses most of her life, showing and training in multiple disciplines. She has been employed as a restaurant manager, backcountry horse and mule packer in the High Sierras, veterinary assistant, and is now retired from a 30-year career as a court reporter. She attended California Polytechnic University,
Lynn Valenti has been involved with horses most of her life, showing and training in multiple disciplines. She has been employed as a restaurant manager, backcountry horse and mule packer in the High Sierras, veterinary assistant, and is now retired from a 30-year career as a court reporter. She attended California Polytechnic University, majoring in Equine Sciences, and California School of Court Reporting. She was a founding chairperson for the Yorba Linda Chapter of the National League of Young Men, and has been the membership chairperson for Granite Mountain Riders here in Prescott for three years. She currently owns three horses and is involved in showing and trail riding.
